With any religion, there will almost always be a group of people that fit the category of what we call extreme (by American definition). To those being accused of extremism, that lifestyle and set of values may seem normal. However, these values are essentially what stunt globalization for that group of people. The location where these people live are often greatly affected by the lack of expansion in that region.

America is supposed to be the melting pot of all cultures. However, if you’re too different from our cultural norm, you are put in a box somewhere along the lines of an immigrant, communist, terrorist or other. Americans have certain mores (norms of morality) that not everyone agrees with. The “beautiful” America is supposed to be accepting of differences. Yet, somewhere this line between acceptance and denial is blurred. This is how tv series such as Breaking Amish and Preacher’s Daughters come about.
